Usage and Reproduction Statement

The contents of the APWA are made publicly available by the authors of the essays for use in research, teaching, and private study. Use of these essays for profit is prohibited except by agreement with authors. Contactthe project director, Prof. Doran Larson, dlarson@hamilton.edu.

Copyright of the essays on the APWA site are retained by the original authors. Any uncompensated use of these essays for profit is in violation of the copyright agreement entered into by their authors; offers and arrangement to pay authors for use of their work can be requested through the project director, Prof. Doran Larson (dlarson@hamilton.edu).

User Accounts for Transcribers

Users who want to transcribe essays must request an account from the project director, Prof. Doran Larson (dlarson@hamilton.edu). Upon approval, the requester will receive an email message including a log-in link at which time they can change the initial password to one of their choice. This user account grants sufficient authorization to submit transcriptions and nothing more. Any other use of that account on the website will result in termination of that account holder's privileges.

Privacy for Transcribers

Any information gathered about transcribers will be considered confidential and will not be shared except with the express permission of the transcriber.

Transcription Ownership

Ownership of all transcriptions is automatically transferred from transcriber to the APWA. The APWA reserves the right to alter or remove the transcription at any time without notice.

By submitting a transcription to this website, you understand that you relinquish any claim of ownership or copyright to the transcription and understand that it might be reproduced in publications without any remuneration to you the transcriber.

Google Analytics

The APWA website uses Google Analytics, a Web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”) to help understand how the site is being used and to improve our interface and services. Google Analytics operates through the use of a “cookie,” which is a text file placed on a user’s computer that contains information about their use of the APWA collection. The information stored in the cookie (including IP addresses) will be transmitted to and stored by Google. The APWA uses this information for analytical and feature­ improvement­ purposes only.
